Our Story

With roots dating back to 1955 and Timmins Aviation, IEAG has been serving Canadians with a continuous commitment to safety and excellence.

Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group is part of IMP Group Ltd., a Halifax-based company focused on global sustainable growth, and with over 3,500 experienced people delivering service, quality, and value to customers across diverse sectors, such as aerospace, aviation, healthcare, information technology, hospitality, and property development.

Dating back to 1955, our story began when John Timmins, a Montreal-based aviation enthusiast and executive, founded Timmins Aviation LTD as an FBO (Fixed Base Operator) in Dorval, Quebec, the main aerospace cluster in the province.

1960

Timmins Aviation became the main and largest FBO in the area providing parking, fuel, de-icing, hangarage, maintenance and pilot lounge facilities to meet the needs of a growing private aircraft clientele.

1961

In 1961, Execaire Ltd. was formed as a division of YXU Aircraft Services by Mitchell Bronfman to become a Mooney aircraft distributor and flying school.

 

1963

IEAG (then Timmins Aviation) operated the largest FBO on the field at Dorval.

Execaire was awarded an air charter operating certificate with an initial fleet of three aircraft. At that time, the company operated in a small office inside the Timmins Aviation Hangar.

1964

IEAG (then Timmins Aviation) attending the NBAA convention in Miami showcasing a converted 724 Series Vickers.

1966

IEAG (then Timmins Aviation) becomes the Canadian Distributor & Service Center for the De Haviland DH125 and serves as home base for the first DH125 in Canada.

1967

Atlantic Aviation acquires Timmins Aviation and adds repair & overhaul services and aircraft interior refurbishments to its growing list of capabilities.

1968

Execaire began the construction of a new complex for its operations. Modern administration offices, a flight operations center and a VIP lounge were completed in 1969.

  • 1. Execaire is awarded its first aircraft management contract and adds non-destructive testing (NDT) to its offerings.

  • 2. Innotech-Aviation (then Atlantic Aviation) refurbishes a Vickers Viscount by adding an auxiliary power unit (APU) and retracting stairs

1969

Grumman Gulfstream 1 in Execaire Livery on a stop-over at CYYZ. This aircraft was managed by Execaire and based at our CYUL facility

1970

Execaire Ramp, dispatch centre, and newly finished offices in Montreal.

1974

Innocan Investments & Management of Timmins Aviation take control of Atlantic Aviation and rename company Innotech Aviation.

1978

Jet Commander and King Air in the Execaire hangar at CYUL.

1980

Execaire Offers 24/7 dispatch service, the only corporate operator offering this service.

Develops in-house flight planning reservation system “Andromeda”.

Innotech Aviation named ASF and Completion Center for Challenger 600/601/604 aircraft.

150 Challengers competed between 1980 and 1994.

1989

IMP Group acquires Innotech Aviation.

1992

Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group adds to its portfolio a network of Fixed Base Operators in Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax.

1994

IEAG becomes an authorized Sales Representative and Repair Facility for Cessna Citation jets.

1996

Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group sells its interior completion division to Bombardier, who creates Bombardier Completion Center Montreal.

1997

Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group builds current maintenance main hangar in Dorval for maintenance services.

2005

IEAG provides interior completions support to Bombardier for its Challenger 300 series of business jets, installing 17 interiors through 2009.

2006

Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group delivers its first Bombardier Global Express green aircraft cabin completion and would go on to deliver 42 Global Express aircraft through 2017.

2007

IEAG constructs its world-class paint facility at its CYUL base – one of the most technologically advanced in all of North America.

2013

In 2013, IEAG acquires Toronto-Pearson based Image Air Charter Limited, enhancing Execaire’s already outstanding aircraft management and charter sales service offerings.

2018

IEAG expands its FBO service network adding a facility at CYQT – Thunder Bay
